September:

  • RCIA
    This group will resume on Monday 6th September 8.00-9.00pm in Hartley Hall. It is primarily for adults who wish to be baptised, or may wish to be received into full communion with the Catholic Church. If you know anyone who is asking questions about the Church or wishes to deepen their faith in some way, please encourage them to come along on the 6th September.

 

  • MALTA DAY – UK 2010
    This will take place on Saturday 11th September in Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambroseden Avenue from 10am to 2.00pm. Malta Day – UK is an annual celebration organised every September by the Malta High Commission and the Maltese people in Great Britain to mark the National Day of Malta. Since it was first organised in 2001 Malta Day- UK has increased in popularity and also attracted persons of other nationalities. For a full programme of the day’s events please see the poster in the porch.

 

  • BAPTISMAL PREPARATION COURSE
    The next preparation course for Baptism will be on September 11/18 & 25th. It will take place in Hartley Hall from 10am -11.30am. If you wish to attend this course, please make an appointment to see Fr Doug.

 

  • PARISH FEAST DAY
    This year our Parish Feast Day will be celebrated on Sunday 12th September. The 11.30am Mass will be followed by a shared lunch in the School hall. Please put the date in your diary

 

  • DOWRY OF MARY PILGRIMAGE
    In preparation for the visit of Pope Benedict to the UK “Heart speaks unto heart” the Dowry of Mary Pilgrimage will take place at Walsingham on Sunday 12th September 2010 and will be led by his Eminence Cardinal Cormac Murphy O’Connor. For more information see poster.

 

  • UNDERSTANDING ISLAM
    On Thursday 23rd September at 7.30pm, we will begin a series of ten two-hour sessions in Hartley Hall entitled ‘Understanding Islam’. This highly regarded course will be given by Dr Chris Hewer, who has been involved in the study of Islam and active in Christian-Muslim relations since 1986. It links with the new Bishops Conference document on inter-religious dialogue ‘Meeting God in Friend and Stranger’. The final session will be on Thursday 2nd December. The course is open to all.

 

  • ALTAR SERVERS
    We will be running a servers’ club next term, starting on Saturday 25th September at 5.30 p.m. There will be an opportunities for our current servers to further improve their practice (if that’s possible!) and also for anyone interested in starting to serve to learn the ropes!

 

October:

  • ROYAL SCHOOL OF CHURCH MUSIC
    Invites you to an open evening at Southwark Cathedral on Tuesday 5th October 2010 from 6.30pm-8.45pm, preceded at 5.30pm by Choral Evensong sung by the Cathedral Choir. The evening will include musical participation and presentations and an opportunity for discussions with leading musicians and clergy. Light refreshments will be available.   • BEGINNING EXPERIENCE
    A weekend away for those who find themselves single again. The next weekend is on 29-31 October at the Emmaus Centre in West Wickham. For more information, contact Nicky on 01296 488289.

  • GETTING MARRIED
    The dates for Marriage preparation courses in 2010 are: May 21/22, August 20/21 and November 5/6. For Catholics marrying non-Catholics, an extra session on May 19, June 30, Sept 15 (Weds eves.)

  • HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE 2011
    Would you like to make a Pilgrimage to the Holy Land for 8 days in early November 2011? The price would be under £1000, (depending on numbers), all inclusive. At this stage, we need to know how many of you MIGHT be interested, so please add your name and telephone number to the list on the noticeboards. (This is not a commitment, merely an indication that you might come.) We would be running the pilgrimage jointly with Sydenham Parish. Further details in due course.
