URGENT: COVID-19 Update->ALL PARISH ACTIVITIES ARE SUSPENDED - Holy Cross Church is OPEN
COVID SECURITY GUIDELINES – UPDATE FROM THE DIOCESE: Following the recent changes in the regulations from the Government, the Diocese has issued updated guidelines for continued safe and covid-secure worship in the church.

Dear parishioner,
This Sunday’s readings invite us to reflect on the nature of our call to be God’s disciples. In the first reading, when prophet Amos was preaching in Bethel, he was told, “‘Go away seer;’ get back to the land of Judah; earn your bread there, do your prophesying there. We want no more prophesying in Bethel; this is the royal sanctuary, the national temple.’”. The expression ‘earn your bread there, do your prophesying there’ means to live on his PROFESSION as prophet. To this Amos replied that that was not his profession [Amos 7:14]. Though he was a shepherd, he was called to proclaim God’s news. Proclamation of God’s Good News and goodness is not a profession but a mission given to us through our Baptism. Fr Antony
