CENTERING PRAYER
On Thursday 16th Oct. 8pm in Hartley Hall, Jill Benet of Contemplative Outreach will visit us to introduce the practice of the Welcoming Prayer.
This is Centering Prayer’s powerful companion piece for turning daily life into a virtually limitless field for inner awakening.  Come and see. New comers welcome.

REV MICHAEL HUTCHINGS
Michael Hutchings will be ordained priest on 8th November in Uruguay. Many of you will know him from Holy Cross, his family lived in Brownhill Road for many years. Michael will celebrate Mass here on Wednesday 17th November, 7.30pm and you are all invited to join him for that celebration.  We intend presenting him with a chalice and ciborium as a gift from Holy Cross. If you would like to be associated with this – we shall have a retiring collection soon.

CHRISTMAS DRAMA PROJECT
We had about 15 people at the drama workshop last Sunday and it was felt that Sunday afternoons seem to be a good time to meet from 2.30 – 4.30pm. So anyone from age 10 upwards is welcome to come and join in. Adults too are welcome as we hope it will be cross generational. The director is Tim Matthews.  The performance date will be Sunday 14th December and we plan to combine this with an Advent / Christmas Carol Service.

OCTOBER
The month of October is traditionally a time of special prayers to Our Lady.

SCHOOL FORMS
Parents who wish to have school application forms signed by Fr John, please come to the presbytery, 208 Sangley Road, on Tuesday or Thursday mornings at 10am. Also Saturday at 12 noon. Please do not put forms through the door – they are very likely to be shredded. All forms must be signed in the presence of a parent.

MEETING FOR PARENTS OF CHILDREN ENTERING A RECEPTION CLASS IN 2008/09
We are holding an open meeting for parents of children who are due to start Reception Class in the 2008/09 academic year on Monday 10th November at 7pm in the school hall.  The meeting will explain the process involved in applying for schools.  All welcome.

THE BEGINNING EXPERIENCE
This is a weekend for those who find themselves alone through divorce, separation or bereavement, from 5-7 December at Aylesford Priory. Contact: Mary 01296 487 634.

KOTO CONCERT IN AID OF THE PASSAGE
There will be a Koto concert (Japanese Harp) in aid of The Passage with traditional Japanese dance on Thursday 16 October  in Westminster Cathedral Hall, Ambrosden Avenue, SW1P 1QJ at 7.00 pm. Tickets £20 from  020 7592 1856

A FUTURE DATE TO NOTE
The Christmas Fayre will be on Saturday 29th November this year. The proceeds this time will be to replace the two church boilers which will cost us £7000. So please support us on the day if you can. The grand raffle is our best fundraiser and the top prize will be £1000 cash for Christmas. Again we are hoping that 5 or 6 parishioners may combine to create the prize. If anyone has any unusual gifts to offer for raffle or auction, a signed football shirt or celebrity item - see Fr John. Thank you.
