Parish Christmas Fayre for Sacristy Refurbishment:
Just four weeks until our Christmas Fayre, which is on Saturday 30th November from 11:30am - 2:30pm in Holy Cross School ● The prize draw is our best fundraiser and the first prize is £500 ● We ideally need 20 generous people to donate £25 each so if you would like to make a donation please put the cash or a cheque in an envelope marked FAO Fr Antony or Angela Allen (Many thanks to those who have donated already) ● Draw tickets will be available this weekend after all Masses ● Please start sorting out your cupboards and donate items that are in good condition and would appeal to others: books, fancy goods, china and glass etc ● No jumble please ● If you are able to volunteer to help in any way please add your name and contact details to the list at the back of the church ● More details next week.

Blessing of the graves:
we shall assemble at Hither Green Cemetery at 3.00pm on this Sunday [3rd Novenmber] afternoon for a prayer service of remembrance to honour our departed parishioners, relatives and friends.

Extraordinary Ministers of Communion and Readers
You are invited to join Bishop Pat Lynch and Fr Saju Pinkkattu to attend a Day of Recollection on Saturday 16th November.  This will take place at Bishop Thomas Grant School, and will begin with registration at 10.30am, ending with Mass at 3.00pm.  It is encouraged that you attend and we would be grateful if you could let the parish office know as soon as possible if you can.

Friends of Ahotokurom
would like to thank parishioners who supported or took part in the summer sponsored walk. Their fantastic efforts raised over £900 to support the work of Ahotokurom Rehabilitation Centre in Ghana. Thank you. This will  make such a difference to the lives of young people with disability in Ghana. Well done all.

Pray for the sick:
Let us pray for the sick including Mariam Philomin, Rose Calver, Charlie Hyam, Rose Calver, Agatha Lewis, Elizabeth Goba, Florence Nosgobie, Gala Lobo and Ann Whitington.

Stewardship Gospel Reflection:
“But Zacchaeus stood there and said to the Lord, ‘Behold, half of my possessions, Lord, I will give to the poor, and if I extorted anything from anyone I shall repay it four times over' " (Luke 19:8). We are all called to gratefully give back to the Lord in proportion to the blessings we have been given. This means everyone isn’t called to give the same amount, but is called to give equal sacrifice. No amount is too small or insignificant! Open your heart, how is God calling you to be more generous with your financial resources and possessions?

Requiem Mass:
The late Archbishop Michael Bowen’s funeral will be on Monday, 4th November, at 12.30 p.m; Archbishop John Wilson to preside; burial in the Cathedral Crypt at the end of the Mass. All are welcome to join us for the respose of the soul of Archbishop Bowen.
Please also pray for Francis Faluyi whose Funeral Mass will be on Monday 11 November at 12.30pm. We also pray for his family at this difficult time.
Holy Cross Quiz night:
It’s time for our Holy Cross Quiz night on Thursday, 7th November, 7pm for a 7.30pm start £10 including Buffett supper. Soft drinks provided but bring your own alcohol if desired. Come on your own or book a table, teams of 8. Contact 07729785843. Hosted by parish UCM and Diamond club.

Parish Council Meeting – at 7.30 pm on Wednesday, 6th November.

Meet Fr Antony
this week without an appointment: Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, and Friday from 5.30pm.

NOVEMBER LIST 2019:
We always remember our beloved departed family members and friends. In November, it being the month of Holy Souls, we particularly remember and pray that the Lord embrace them with His tender love; deliver them from every evil and bid them enter eternal rest. Please put the list of names in a Holy Souls envelope and place it in the Holy Souls box. We will place all those names on the Altar and pray for those souls every day in the month of November. Your offerings will be used to offer Holy Masses for the Holy Souls thoughout the year or be sent to other deserving parishes to offer the Holy Masses for the Holy Souls.

THE CALL TO HOLINESS IN TODAY’S WORLD [Gaudete Et Exsultate by Pope Francis]: This document outlines how Catholics living in an ever secular world can find the path to become holy. It highlights many Biblical teachings,  such as St Paul’s letter to the Hebrews 12:, which instructs Christians to “run with perseverance the race that is set before us”. If you would like to read more of the document, follow the link below: http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/apost_exhortations/documents/papa-francesco_esortazione-ap_20180319_gaudete-et-exsultate.html

How to request a Holy Mass Intention.
Find the Mass Intention envelopes at the back of the church. Complete the form on the front of the envelope, insert your offering (the diocesan suggested offering is £10) and return to Fr Antony, or post through any of the church letter boxes.

Bible verse to remember:
The name of Christ will be glorified in you, and you in him  [2 Thessalonians 1:12].
