Canonisation of Cardinal
Newman Announced:
Pope Francis has announced that Blessed John Henry Newman
will be canonised in Rome on Sunday 13th October 2019. This will take place
alongside four others: Giuseppina Vannini, Mariam Thresia Chiramel Mankidiyan, Irmã
Dulce Pontes and Marguerite Bays.
Remembering Blessed John Henry Newman:
Between
Sunday 6th and Sunday 27th October 2019, St George's Cathedral in Southwark
will be displaying a relic of Blessed John Henry
Newman, who will be canonised in Rome on Sunday 13th October 2019. In addition, a Mass will be celebrated in honour of
Newman's canonisation by Archbishop John Wilson on Sunday 27th October at 11.30
am.

Fr Antony without an appointment on Monday and Wednesday from 10am to 12pm, and

Christ
the King Sixth Forms:
is
seeking to appoint a new Chaplain. You will work at our St Mary’s site in
Sidcup, for 27.5 hours per week for 40 weeks per year. As a Lay Chaplain you
will play a vital role in helping to shape the experience and development of
students on the site. You will have a keen interest in working with young
people aged 16 – 19 and have the confidence to shape in their faith journey as
well as lead wider opportunities for prayer and reflection. The successful
candidate will be a practising Catholic with excellent interpersonal,
communication and organisational skills. A background in Education and/or Youth

Want to
Baptise your child?
1. Complete the Baptism Application Form (either collect it
from the Grotto Corner of the church or download it from the parish website)
2. Make an appointment with Fr Antony and submit the
completed form with evidence of Parents’ and God Parents’ religion. The
evidence can be either their Baptism/Confirmation Certificates, certificate of
marriage in the Catholic Church or a letter from their parish priest.
3. Participate in the Baptism Preparation Course.
4. Fix a date for the celebration of the sacrament of
Baptism.
5. Receive Baptism Certificate in any one of the following
Sunday’s Mass.
Parish Mass Books:
will be
introduced in our parish from December. These books contain the Order of the
Holy Mass, many prayers and all readings of the Holy Week liturgy, Christmas
and important feasts. Any suggestions, kindly bring it to Fr Antony.

The Salvation Army,
Catford:
invites us to take
part in some "Community Carol Singing", on Saturday 14th Dec 2019 at
11am. We will be meeting on Catford Broadway to do some carol singing. It
will not be a formal event, simply inviting the churches and community to sing
some carols together. We have carol books on the day to hand out so no one
should have to sing by memory. All welcome.
is next Sunday, 20th October. It will be a
special day to pray for the poor parishes all over the world and to help them
financially. There will be a second collection next weekend
