TWENTY-NINTH
SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME WEEKEND OF OCTOBER 20-21, 2018
In today’s Gospel Jesus teaches his disciples that whoever wishes
to be great among them must be a servant, just as he came to be a servant.
Today is World Mission Sunday – a reminder of our call to be good stewards of
the Gospel and to support those who make evangelization their servant ministry
throughout the world. Not to be a servant of the Gospel would be poor
stewardship. But how do we serve the Gospel in our daily lives? How do we
support others who serve those who have never heard the Gospel or who have
chosen to reject the Gospel of Jesus Christ?
CHRISTMAS
WITH A DIFFERENCE!
Can you make some room for an international
student to learn what true British Festive hospitality can mean? Should you
like to add that international element to your Christmas, learning another
country’s traditions and enjoying the connection and friendship that such
sharing brings?
HOST UK arranges for international students
to enjoy brief homestays with UK hosts, one day, a weekend or, over the festive
period-a three day visit. We need more
hosts so that a smile such as Marine’s can spread across many more faces…and
across our fragile world.
If
you should like to know more, go to our website www.hostuk.org or leave us a message
