PARISH OFFICE

REFLECTION.
In today’s Gospel reading Jesus urges his listeners to “Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” He also offers several examples of putting mercy into action. Listeners can then reason their way into how to put the values of the Gospel reflected in these imperatives into practice in other situations. Good stewards look for opportunities to exercise God’s mercy toward others. They realize that, in doing so, their own experience of God’s mercy not only becomes more profound, but affirms their hope of seeing the Lord face-to-face one day. How have we experienced God’s mercy in our lives? How might our thinking, attitudes, words and actions reflect God’s mercy on someone else today?

The next two events in the Deanery Spiritual Pilgrimage is a follow up to the Adoremus Eucharistic Congress in Liverpool, at Our Lady and St Philip Neri, Sydenham, on Friday 1st March at 7.30pm. There will be an opportunity to meet with others from across the deanery after the presentation over refreshments.
Our Lady of Lourdes, Lee are holding a men's morning event especially March 16th   10.30 am to 12.30 pm “Men as spiritual Leaders.” The morning will link to some of the output from the Adoremus Eucharistic Congress held in Liverpool in September last year.

ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY (SVP) COFFEE MORNING
The  St Vincent de Paul Society founded in France in 1833, is an international Christian voluntary organisation, providing direct practical assistance to anyone in need.  Our Holy Cross Parish SVP groups, (Adult group, Youth SVP, and Mini Vinnies) are all volunteers, aiming where we can to provide practical help, friendship and support.   We are entirely dependant on donations.  To boost our funds we have a second collection after all Masses on the weekend of 9th/10th March, and we have a coffee morning after the 10 am Mass on Sunday 10th March. Please do come to support us, gain information about SVP, learn how you might help - and enjoy homemade cake.
