                        Ascension of the Lord – Thursday 30th May [Holy day of obligation].
There will be Masses at 9.15 am and 7.00 pm.  

Seven Members of the Legion of Mary are visitng us from Ireland.  They will be able to visit our families from 29th June until 6th July.  If you are able to accommodate anyone during their mission in Holy Cross, Catford, please contact Fr Antony.

How was Lent for you? Did you see the benefits, to yourself, that using and sharing your gifts and talents with others brought? We are planning to have a short ministry Fair on Monday 4th July at 7.30pm in Hartley Hall when you will be able to explore possibilities to use your gifts and talents. Keep the date free, more information to follow.

Fr John Mulligan’s Memorial Mass Planning has already begun for the Memorial Mass for Fr. John Mulligan on Saturday 22 June at 6.30pm. He died suddenly in September last year. He was in Catford from 1990 – 2009, and our Parish priest from 1993. We are planning a display of photos and we are looking for recollections and memories to accompany it. Please see Fr. Antony or one of the Parish Council if you think you can help. Next choir practice will be on Thursday, 6th June at 7.30pm.

Coffee morning after 10am Mass today will be hosted by the 14th Lewisham Scout group.  They are raising much needed funds for our parish scout group and will be selling cakes and raffle tickets.  We hope to see you there.

Ecumenical Pilgrimage to Aylesford is this Wednesday 29th May. Please can we meet outside Hartley Hall at 9.45 am following Mass, which will be a lovely way to commence our day.  The cost of £10 can be paid on the coach, if you haven’t already paid.  There are two spaces still available, please let Fr Anthony know.

ANNUAL PARISH WALK 2019   Our annual Walk this year will take place on Saturday 6th July. Please put this date in your diaries. Funds raised will support the children in the Special Needs Unit at Ahotokurom in Ghana. Further details will follow and Sponsorship forms will be available after Masses from June 8th.

Altar Servers Club The next session will be on Saturday 29th June, 3-4pm. Newcomers are most welcome.

Catholic Mothers invite you to another evening on Friday 7th June at 7.30 pm in Hartley Hall. This talk is titled “Resting on the Heart of Jesus.”  Come and find some rest and meet new faith-filled friends.  

Welcome If you are new the parish, you are most welcome.  Please make yourself known to Fr Antony.  In addition, please visit our website and complete an online registration form. There are hard copies at the back of the church if you’d prefer to complete a form and return to the parish office.

Nicholas Wibberley and his wife Rachael warmly invite members of the Holy Cross Parish to attend the opening of their new funeral directors on Beckenham High Street on Saturday 1st June from 10am to 2pm. All welcome.
Thank you. Margaret and Ossie Folkes and family would like to thank all those who offered hugs, words of sympathy, sent messages, cards, letters or Mass cards, following the death of Jackie, their precious daughter. A particular thank you to Bishop Pat and Fr Antony for their support and prayers. Holy Mass will be celebrated in thanksgiving.   Apologies to those who attended Jackie’s funeral  and wished to support the Blackthorn Trust, a mental well being Charity, that supported Jackie. There was no box for donations after the Mass. If you wish to make a donation please do so through the website www.blackthorn.org.uk. Thank you.

Second Collection: Today there is a second collection for St George’s Cathedral, the mother church of our diocese.  This collection helps meet the costs towards the upkeep of the cathedral.
World Communications Day is next Sunday. There will be a second collection then.  The funds will be used to support the work of the Catholic Communications Network (CNN), the media office of the Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales.

Parish Surgery This Week: On Friday from 5.30 pm, you may meet our parish priest, Fr Antony, without prior appointment in the presbytery.
