PARISH CENSUS - PARISH COMMUNICATION STRATEGY
Will take place over the week-ends 30 June / 1st July and a catch-up the following week-end 7/8 July. It will be a simple form to complete for everyone in your family. We will also make the form available online. Information you give will be only be used by the parish.
So why are we doing this now? Our information is very out of date, and many families have moved away, others have moved into the parish. Families have changed; grown/ decreased. In order to respond to parishioners' needs we will look to gather current and accurate contact details for all families, so that we can best plan how to use our parish resources. We will ask for names, addresses, ages, contact details, and schools (for children /young people)
Alongside this, new legislation will be in place for Data Protection, so be assured we are only looking for information that you are prepared to volunteer. (There will be further updates on our Communication Strategy.

SPECIAL MINISTERS AND READERS
Our rotas for both of these ministries are no longer accurate, and we are asking ALL special Ministers and Readers to register their current position, whether wishing to continue on the Rota or be removed from the Rota.
There is a Poster in the Information Corner. Please either tick your own name and sign, or delete you name and sign. The Poster will be up this week and next and the new rota will begin at Pentecost.
We have recently recruited a number of new Readers and Special Ministers and hope to fit them onto the new Rota when it comes out.
HOLY CROSS SCOUTS - VOLUNTEER VACANCIES
Holy Cross Scouts celebrates 70 years this summer! We meet on Monday evenings and are looking for an adult assistant leader and adult section leader for our Beavers and Cubs groups.
Our longstanding treasurer has recently moved out of the Parish and we also need a volunteer who can manage our accounts behind the scenes. This would make a great role if you're looking for work experience on your CV, or have spare time.

THE DIOCESAN JUSTICE & PEACE COMMISSION, SPRING ASSEMBLY 2018 entitled Laudato Si! Responding to the call of Pope Francis, will be at St Mary’s Church, Croydon, and Surrey. Saturday 2nd June. 10.30am to 4pm, Preceded by Mass at 10am celebrated by Bishop Lynch.  Speaker Ellen Teague. Free event. Everyone welcome. Please bring a packed lunch. Tea & coffee provided.
Seventh Sunday of Easter May 12/13, 2018
In today’s Gospel we listen to Jesus, praying to his Father. He prays for the well-being of his followers. He prays that they may be protected, that they may know God’s truth, that they share in Christ’s joy. How do we exercise stewardship over the gift of prayer? What is our attitude toward prayer? Do we speak to the Lord about our personal concerns? Do we pray for others? Do we listen to the Lord? Do we believe the Lord listens to us?
