THE WHY COURSE
Holy Cross is beginning a series of talks and courses which over the next few years for anyone who wants to find out more about our Catholic Faith. Beginning this Lent we will explore some of the 'Big Questions' about God, Jesus and the Church. Thursdays 1st March 'Why God?', 8th March, 'Why Jesus?' and 22nd March, 'Why the Church?' 7:30pm in Hartley Hall. For further information contact [email protected]
A series of 4 presentations  on Mary the Mother of God Wednesdays 28th Feb, 7th, 14th and 21st March 7.30pm-8.30pm.
Who was Mary of Nazareth? Why was she chosen to be the mother of God? How did her “YES” change the world? Where is Mary now and what is she doing? How can Mary help us today? These are some of the questions raised in the presentations.
Join us from 7pm for a cup of tea and meet other parishioners.
Will be of particular interest to those going to Lourdes on the Parish Pilgrimage in September
GOSPEL REFLECTION FIRST SUNDAY OF LENT IN todays Gospel, Jesus urges his listeners to do two things: to believe in the Good News and to repent. The steward is called to repent: to acquire an openness to begin anew, to change existing attitudes and habits, and to act with faith in the Gospel. In this season of Lent, now is the time to ask ourselves whether or not we truly believe in the Gospel; and if we do, to what extent are we willing to change our prevailing habits and be more faithful to the Gospel?
Each week of Lent there will be a cartoon and a short text based on the Gospel reading for that week.
What is God saying to you?
What are your priorities going to be?
