HOLY CROSS CHURCH CATFORD

THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER
This weekend we remember those who have passed away from our parish during the year at all masses.
ANNUAL CEMETERY PROCESSION
This takes place at Hither Green Cemetery on Remembrance Sunday, 12th November 2017. We assemble at the Main Gate in Verdant Lane from 2.15pm and the procession begins at 2.30.Priests and deacons are available to visit and pray at the graves of your loved ones. We need to leave the cemetery by the closing time of 3.30pm.
PERHAPS
Perhaps if we could see
The splendour of the land
To which our loved ones are
Called from you and me
We’d understand.
Perhaps, if we could hear
The welcome they receive
From old familiar voices – all so dear
We would not grieve.
Perhaps if we could know
The reason why they went
We’d smile – and wipe away the tears that flow
And wait content. Anonymous
CATHOLIC LEGACY WEEK
Gifts in your will are a wonderful way you can continue to support the Church’s ministry and mission and help meet the needs of future generations. Do please consider gifts to the church and Catholic charities next time you update your Will. For more information pick up a leaflet; contact Your Catholic Legacy on 0207 095 5370; go to www.yourcatholiclegacy.org.uk or contact Adrian Radford, the Diocesan Financial Controller, by email: [email protected]
MENTAL HEALTH STEERING GROUP
Fliers given out at mass this weekend updating everyone on the progress made towards setting up a drop in cafe to support mental health and wellbeing. We are actively looking for volunteers to assist, there’s been a good response so far but we need helpers in the kitchen to prepare drinks and help with the food. If you are interested please contact the Parish office.

Rehearsals will be either Thursday or Friday evenings (to be arranged). We look forward to welcoming you.
CTS BOOKSHOP
Please note that the CTS bookshop has now closed. A huge ‘Thank you’ to Catherine Sanderson who has facilitated this resource for many years. If anybody is interested in the books please come and see Fr Doug.
COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
There is a list on our information board (in the Sangley Rd porch) of foodbanks/free meals which might be useful in these colder times when the homeless (and plenty of other people) start to struggle to budget, heat and feed themselves and/or their dependents.
FAREWELL
So long, auf wiedersehen, Adieu!
