ADVENT PRAYER DAY
Following our Parish Prayer Day last week that
introduced Journaling to us, we have the second extract for you to use as a
stimulus for prayer. Journaling offers a space to reflect on a passage and
respond to it in writing. Writing our response allows us to express our
thoughts and feelings, it also lets us look back later and see how we have
grown or changed. Remember the writing is for YOU! You are not writing for an
audience!
Penitential Service on Tuesday 19th
December

DURING ADVENT
…Father may use the ‘I
confess’ and the words are here…
I confess to almighty
God
And to you, my brothers
and sisters,
That I have greatly
sinned,
In my thoughts and in
my words,
In what I have done and
what I have failed to do,
And, striking
their breast, they say
through
my fault, through my fault,
through
my most grievous fault;
Then they
continue:
Therefore
I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
All the
Angels and Saints,
And you,
my brothers and sisters,
To pray
for me to the Lord or God.
Every Valley shall be exalted
and every hill made low
And all God’s people shall see together
the Glory of the Lord.
