DAY OF PRAYER AND RECOLLECTION
Save the date, 7th July 2018 Convent of St Andrews Belmont Hill (Very Advanced notice, more details closer to the time.)
STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION
In today’s second reading Paul concludes his letter to the Christian community at Thessalonica by providing it with actions to take as they wait for the return of the
Lord. The first action is to rejoice always and give thanks in all circumstances. This sounds easy but it’s not. The two words that make this task difficult are “always” and
“all”. This means giving thanks and rejoicing even when our circumstances are not always moments of joy and thanksgiving, or when we are confronted with a broken
world. Prayerful stewards rejoice and give thanks in all circumstances because they are people of hope. A good refection this week would be how the season of Advent can give you reason to hope.
DURING ADVENT
…Father may use the ‘I confess’ and the words are here…
I confess to almighty God
And to you, my brothers and sisters,
That I have greatly sinned,
In my thoughts and in my words,
In what I have done and what I have failed to do,
And, striking their breast, they say
through my fault, through my fault,
through my most grievous fault;
Then they continue:
Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin,
All the Angels and Saints,
And you, my brothers and sisters,
To pray for me to the Lord or God.
PENITENTIAL SERVICE
Please note, the penitential service will be here at 7pm on WEDNESDAY 20th December at 7pm NOT Tuesday as advertised in last week’s newsletter.
