TOUR OF THE CHURCH.
Are you curious about the different parts of our church? What those all those symbol are about? Who is depicted in the paintings and statues? not to mention all the different liturgical vestments? Then come along on Monday 5th November at 7.30pm - 9pm. The RCIA group will be having a tour of Holy Cross and you will be able to ask questions and explore parts you don’t normally see. It is still not too late to come and join the group, either to find out about becoming a Catholic or just to support those who are on the journey.
THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER
..is traditionally a time to remember those who have been called to eternal life.
The 1st of November is All Saint’s day and is  a holy day of obligation and there will be Mass at 7pm in the evening as well as the morning mass.
We will remember those who have died in our parish this year on the weekend of the 10th & 11th November which coincides with National Remembrance Sunday. Each person will be named and a candle will be lit for them during each Mass of that weekend.
Each family is invited to take a November List and to record the names of members of their family who have died. These lists are then collected and placed before the altar and Mass or prayers said each day during November.
Annual Cemetery Procession
Cemetery Procession: Lewisham Deanery annual procession through Hither Green Cemetery takes place on Remembrance Sunday 11th November at 2.30pm. We assemble at the Main Gate in Verdant Lane from 2.15 and process to the Catholic section where priests and deacons are available to accompany you to the grave of your loved ones.
CATHOLIC LEGACY WEEK
Catholic Legacy Week 1-7th November.
Gifts in your will are a wonderful way you can continue to support the Church’s ministry and mission and help meet the needs of future generations. Do please consider gifts to the Church and Catholic charities next time you update your Will.

The Joy of Love: The covenant of love and fidelity lived by the Holy Family of Nazareth illuminates the principle which gives shape to every family, and enables it better to face the vicissitudes of life and history. On this basis, every family, despite its weaknesses, can become a light in the darkness of the world. ‘Nazareth teaches us the meaning of family life, its loving communion, its simple and austere beauty, its sacred and inviolable character. May it teach how sweet and irreplaceable is its training, how fundamental and incomparable its role in the social order’ (Paul VI, Address in Nazareth, 5 January 1964).
