ALTAR SERVERS
On the eve of the fourth Sunday of Advent eighteen of our Altar Servers, along with Fr Antony, celebrated the joyful feast of Christmas with a party.  Prayer, disco dancing, games, balloons, finger food and the jovial company of each other created a fun time for all.  Our plan for 2019 was also launched.  The Servers’ club resumes at 3-4pm in the church on 26/01/19 and will include exposition of The Blessed Sacrament.  Like the magi we come to visit Jesus:  O come let us serve Him.  What will your gifts be to Jesus and our church this year?

Gospel Reflection Baptism of the Lord
“John answered them all, ‘I baptize you with water; but he who is mightier than I is coming…he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit... ’” (Luke 3:16)
The Catholic Catechism states that “Jesus’ immersion in the water is a sign for all human beings of the need to die to themselves to do God’s will.”  In other words, as baptized Catholics there is only one gift that we need to give to Jesus – the gift of ourselves.  Surrender yourself in Stewardship to God, place your trust in Him and allow the Holy Spirit to work through you for the greater glory of God.
