THE PARISH CENSUS

..will take place over the week-end 30 June and 1st July and there will be a follow up the following week.  There will be some helpers to assist and give advice on both week-ends. You will be able to complete the form online as well as a paper version.

When you complete the form you will be asked if you give your consent to using your contact details within the parish, and also to using photos for use within the parish and the parish website.

The Census will be used to produce an up to date database of the parish.

It will be especially helpful in knowing where people live, so that we can arrange visits / support for those who are housebound. Families will be better served too, we will know ages of children and can see when they are due to come into school, to transfer to secondary, to make their first communion and confirmation. Provided we have up to date contact details we will be able to remind parishioners about events, dates affecting them.

Eleventh Sunday in Ordinary Time Weekend of June 16/17

In today’s Gospel, Jesus compares the beginning of God’s kingdom to a mustard seed. This tiny seed, which fits in the palm of a hand, can grow to fifteen feet with sprawling branches! Like the mustard seed, the Christian community had a tiny, seemingly insignificant beginning. The church, which began with about 120 followers, added three thousand people on Pentecost Day following the descent of the Holy Spirit. Since then, the number of Christ’s disciples has grown incalculably and continues to grow throughout the world. Good stewards go about God’s business of “planting seeds” among all those they encounter. What will we do this week to add to God’s kingdom?
