EXTRAORDINARY MINISTERS OF HOLY COMMUNION.
There was a short get together for our Extraordinary Ministers on Saturday morning. A lovely period of adoration at the start of the session helped to ground us as we looked at our role, and how Fr. Antony and the parish can support us, both spiritually, and practically in this ministry. If you were unable to attend please contact [email protected] to get important information and updates distributed at the session.

HUMANAE VITAE STUDY GROUP.
Join the Catholic Mothers Apostolate study group every Thursday 10.30 am-12 pm in the Diamond Room. This year the group will have the opportunity to spend some time studying Humane Vitae. The key message of this document is understanding the inseparable dependency of authentic love and truth in human relationships. This is Pope Paul VI’s long-awaited and 'controversial' encyclical explaining the beauty of marriage and the sanctity of human life within that bond. This study is important because it addresses many questions modern Catholics have battled in today's culture dealing with human love in relationships. It is an important topic to discuss and a great resource in understanding why the Church so strongly guides us towards honouring our dignity within intimate relationships and God's very hand in procreation. Email us at [email protected] for more info or just turn up on the day!
PARISH REGISTRATION.
It is never too late to register as a parishioner. You can do this online by going to the REGISTRATION page on the parish website. Families seeking Sacramental preparation - Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation  or school
CONGRATULATIONS
To Anne Mellis, who has completed the Diocesan Catechetical Certificate based at the Centre for Catholic Formation in Tooting. She received her certificate from Archbishop Peter Smith at the wards ceremony last Saturday. Well done Anne!
REFLECTION
Jesus' entire homily at Nazareth is condensed in the few words, "Today this Scripture passage is fulfilled in your hearing." Jesus' townspeople argue with him out of local interests. Why does he not do here at home the marvels he did at Capernaum? When Jesus appeals to the great prophets of the past who performed their miracles for Gentiles, the people attempt to kill him.
This event already announces Jesus' destiny and his message. After his Passover, this message spread from Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria and then to the very ends of the earths.
We must not confine Jesus to Nazareth and to the first century of our era, because his word is for every race, every culture, the entire world, all times.
DAY OF VICTIMS OF TRAFFICKING
Friday 8th February.
Saint Josephine Bakhita
Josephine was born in Sudan in 1869 in she was kidnapped at the age of 7, sold into slavery and given the name Bakhita, which means fortunate. She was resold several times. She became a Catholic and is the Patron of Victims of Trafficking.
She once said, “Be good, love the Lord, pray for those who do not know Him. What a great grace it is to know God!”
She who worked under many “masters” was finally happy to address God as “master” and carry out everything that she believed to be God’s will for her.
