THANK YOU
FOR YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS
A
big thank you to all of you who help
maintain the weekly offerings to support this parish and its work and upkeep;
whether you contribute by cash, cheque or bank standing order.
Thank
you also to those who have Gift Aided their contributions which enables the
Church to recover the basic rate tax you paid on your salary, pension earnings
or other income.
Here
at Holy Cross we offer the Gift Aid scheme to those who donate by bank standing
order, or by using a Gift Aid envelope.
If you would like to join the Gift Aid scheme, there are forms available
in the Contact Corner – you need a Gift Aid declaration and a bank standing
order form. Once completed please hand
both forms to Fr Doug. We can also claim Gift Aid on Mass offerings so if you
have a lot of Masses offered throughout the year please consider
Completing
a form.
For
those donors already within the Gift Aid scheme, please let us know if your Tax
Status has changed.
PARISH FINANCES
Many
thanks to you all for supporting the parish financially, as well as in other
ways.
In
2017 our income was £97,486 made up of £70,115 offertory, £7,878 gift aid and
£15,600 investment.
Our
expenditure was £77,801 of which £4207 ran the parish office, £16,133 went to
the diocese, £6,905 was for the church and £4,033 paid for the clergy including
the presbytery costs.
Thus
there was an excess of £19,685 in the year. A fuller account is on the website.
We
are very grateful to Mr Peter Louth who has looked after the parish accounts
this year
