Catholic Teachings and Practices for Altar Servers:

  1. Reverence and Punctuality: Altar Servers are expected to serve at the altar with reverence, intelligence, and punctuality. This includes making short acts of preparation before and thanksgiving after serving Mass1.

  2. Training and Preparation: Proper training and preparation are essential. This includes learning the specific roles and responsibilities, such as carrying the crucifix, holding the book for the priest, and assisting with the preparation of the altar2.

  3. Spiritual Formation: Altar Servers are encouraged to engage in spiritual practices, such as daily prayers and regular confession, to deepen their connection with their faith and responsibilities3.

  4. Liturgical Role: During Mass, Altar Servers assist the priest and deacon, helping to ensure the liturgy is conducted smoothly and reverently. This includes tasks like lighting candles, preparing the altar, and assisting with the Eucharist4.

Our team is dedicated to supporting our Altar Servers in their ministry. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding in helping us coordinate these efforts effectively.
