The Ascension of the Lord (Thursday)
Before he ascended into heaven, Jesus instructed his disciples to proclaim the Gospel to all of creation. As stewards of this legacy, we too are called to give witness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our words and actions; in how we live and how we treat others. Are we sharing the life of Christ with others in our day-to-day lives? In what ways do we see ourselves proclaiming the Gospel? In what ways can we do better?

HOLY CROSS SCOUTS - VOLUNTEER VACANCIES
Holy Cross Scouts celebrates 70 years this summer! We meet on Monday evenings and are looking for an adult assistant leader and adult section leader for our Beavers and Cubs groups.
Our longstanding treasurer has recently moved out of the Parish and we also need a volunteer who can manage our accounts behind the scenes. This would make a great role if you're looking for work experience on your CV, or have spare time.
Contact Heidi, 07778 354712 / [email protected].
PARISH COMMUNICATION STRATEGY - PARISH CENSUS
In order to help our parish work more effectively we will be holding a Census over the weekend Saturday 30th June and Sunday 1st July. Our records have been very outdated over the last few years and in order to work more effectively, now is the time to bring our information up to date. This is all part of our Parish Communication Strategy. Many of you have already have commented on the new and improved parish website and many of you are taking advantage of having the Parish Newsletter emailed directly to you each week. We are hoping to further improve communication and consultation over the next twelve months. There will be further updates on the Census over the coming weeks.
SPECIAL MINISTERS AND READERS
Our rotas for both of these ministries are no longer accurate, and we are asking ALL special Ministers and Readers to register their current position, whether wishing to continue on the rota or be removed from the rota.
There is a Poster in the Information Corner. Please either tick your own name and sign, or delete you name and sign. The Poster will be up this week and next and the new rota will begin at Pentecost.
We have recently recruited a number of new Readers and Special Ministers and hope to fit them onto the new rota when it comes out.

Gospel Reflection
Jesus calls his disciples his “friends” and commands them to love one other as he has loved them. We are called to be stewards of this friendship; to love one another as Jesus loves us. Do we give serious attention to what this love requires of us? Does this require us to actively seek the welfare of others? What is the price of this friendship with the Lord?
